FAQ

Questions we get every week.

Licensing, pricing, scheduling, warranties and equipment — the honest version. If your question isn't here, the office will answer it on the phone in about a minute.

Company & credentials

Are you licensed and insured?+

Yes. We hold Florida certified air conditioning contractor license CAC1813266, plus Highlands County HC00648 / HC03048 and City of Lakeland AEC-13870. General liability is through Zurich and workers' compensation through Southern-Owners. Verify anything at myfloridalicense.com.

How long have you been in business?+

Since 2003, out of Lake Wales. The company incorporated under its current form in 2008 and has been listed in The Blue Book since then.

Who owns the company?+

Tommy Gene Moses II — Gene — is president. It's an owner-run shop, not a franchise or a private-equity roll-up.

Scheduling & service

What are your hours?+

Standard hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Saturday, with emergency calls answered Sunday. Online listings disagree on our hours, so please call to confirm.

How fast can you get here?+

Same-day and next-day appointments are common, and customers regularly report technicians arriving within a couple of hours on no-cool calls.

Do I have to be home?+

An adult should be present so we can access the thermostat and air handler and review findings with you before any work is approved.

Pricing & warranty

How does pricing work?+

A diagnostic fee covers the visit and testing. You get the repair or replacement price up front, and nothing starts until you approve it. No surprise labor line items.

Is the diagnostic fee applied to the repair?+

Yes — if you proceed with the repair on that visit, the diagnostic fee comes off the total.

What warranty do I get?+

New equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty, and our installation labor is warrantied separately. Terms are written on your invoice.

Equipment & installation

What brands do you install?+

We're a Comfortmaker dealer (a Carrier-owned line) and can source equivalent equipment lines when a project or budget calls for it.

Can you install AC in a home with no ductwork?+

Yes. We fabricate and install complete duct systems, and for homes where ducts aren't practical we install ductless mini-splits.

How do you size a replacement system?+

By load calculation on the actual house — square footage, insulation, window area and orientation — not by copying whatever tonnage was there before.

Do you work with homebuilders?+

Yes. New-construction mechanical subcontracting is a large share of our volume: plan take-offs, sheet metal, ductwork and equipment set on production schedules.
